The nature of an addiction is:
Obsession – it is all you think about
Craving – “I gotta have it”
A habit – you do it over and over again
It becomes a bad habit that you can’t stop
You feel powerless
The root behind all addictions
Is an unloving spirit that making you feel unloved (see Unloving Spirit booklet)?
This spirit makes you feel like no one really cares about you.
You feel rejected and all alone.
The need for comfort.
The first step to freedom from addictions is to invite someone into your loneliness. Come out of isolation by talking to someone about your addiction.
Invite Jesus in
“Behold I stand at the door and knock if anyone will hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and sup with him and he will sup with me.” Revelations 3:21
Jesus came to set you free from addictions!
